Gen Two – Youth Engagement Programme
As part of the Alchemy Campus planning process, Gen Two and its design team partnered with the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Youth Engagement Service (YES) to run a 2-day youth engagement programme for Fowlmere Primary School.
30 Year 5 & 6 children participated in the ‘Have Your Say’ project, which allowed them to contribute to the design of street furniture, public art, bird boxes, and bug hotels for the community pocket park.
We also hosted a Careers Talk to inspire students to pursue careers in the built environment, life science, and property development sectors.
An Award Ceremony celebrated the children’s achievements and promoted inter-generational learning by inviting other year groups and parents. The project enhanced the development’s proposals, with the street furniture to be incorporated into the completed site. Two pieces designed by the students will be gifted to Fowlmere Primary School.
